The New York Times reports that Syracuse Humanities professor Gary M. Radke has identified two figures in the Andrea del Verrochio panel "Beheading of the Baptist," part of the alter in the Florentine Baptistry, as the work of Leonardo da Vinci who was a student of Verrocchio. The panel, now in the Museum of the Duomo (il Museo dell'Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore di Firenze) will be on display in Atlanta, at the High Museum from October 3, 2009.
