A new exhibition organized by Leonardo3 (L3), an innovative media company (research laboratory, creation of exhibitions and museums; editorial, television and multi-media projects; publishing house) at Vigevano Castle, from September 12, 2009 to April 5, 2010:
Il Laboratorio di Leonardo. I codici, le macchina, i disegni
"The manuscript pages of Leonardo’s codices, reconstructions of ingenious, never-seen-before machines and the artistic expression of his drawings. Discover the true Leonardo through these sources of inspiration: a workshop of ideas and designs for everyone.
Codices
Thanks to new digital technology, Leonardo’s most important manuscripts are reunited for the first time since 1796 when Napoleon removed them from Italy: Manuscript B (also digitally restored), the Codex Atlanticus and the Codex on Flight.
Machines
Reconstructions of machines that are newly interpreted or presented for the first time: Mechanical Lion, Harpsichord-Viola, Robot Knight, Self-Propelled Cart, Great Kite, Aerial Screw, Mechanical Bat, Wire-Controlled Bird, and others.
Drawings
Leonardo was not just a scientific artist, but an artistic scientist. Discover the master through more than 20 of his drawings: Self-Portrait, Perspective Study for the Adoration of the Magi, Madonna and Child and the Head of a Woman, among others." [website; links added]
