Pescosolido Familhy Scholarship Foundation

Pescosolido Family Scholarships Foundation, Inc. for the tenth year, will award scholarships for study at accredited and acceptable educational institutions in Italy. In addition to the application, please submit (i) transcripts; (ii) at least two letters of recommendation; and (iii) essay. The application is due on May 15, 2008. Scholarships are based on academic merit; the applications are judged by a selection committee as provided by the By-laws of the Pescosolido Family Scholarship Foundation, Inc. The purpose of the foundation “is to encourage, promote, assist and further the study of Italy by students from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, of the Italian language along with culture, civilization and history of Italy.”

Siena School for Liberal Arts

The Siena School for Liberal Arts in Siena, Italy is pleased to announce the launch of a new study abroad scholarship program for outstanding students interested in having a high quality study abroad experience in Italy. Full-tuition scholarships for Fall 2008 will now be available on a competitive basis to students enrolled full-time in a U.S. college or university who submit a completed application to the Siena School by March 15, 2008.

Master of Arts in Italian at Boston College

The 2-year Masters of Arts in Italian at Boston College presents a solid grounding in the Italian literary canon, in preparation for doctoral study, teaching careers in secondary schools, or other positions requiring a thorough knowledge of Italian language and culture.
Boston College offers Teaching Fellowships and Graduate Assistantships to Masters candidates on a competitive basis. The Fellowship and Assistantship offer complete tuition remission and a stipend.

The Italian eCenter is an innovative project initiated by Professor
Laurie Shepard at Boston College.

The objective of the site is to provide a portal for contemporary Italian
cinema, literature, music, art, media, and other cultural events,
as well as educational and employment opportunities.

We envision our public to include Italiophiles of every kind, students, professors and
non specialists alike, opera lovers, film enthusiasts, history buffs and tourists.

On the site we include local and national events and publications that pertain to Italian culture, as well as events in Italy of interest to tourists, scholars and local residents.

We have chosen English as a principal language for the site, and many links are in Italian.
